Framixin-H Ointment 5 Gm

Framixin contains three antibiotics to provide a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and fungi. Activity against Staphylococci, Streptococci and Pseudomonas is significant. These three antibiotics have good aural activity while there is negligible systemic absorption. Cross resistance between the three is unlikely; however, cross resistance can occur between framycetin and neomycin products.Microbiology The antibacterial spectrum of framycetin includes Staphylococcus sp., Escherichia coli , Klebsiella sp., Haemophilus sp., Proteus sp., Salmonella sp., Shigella sp. and mycobacteria. The antibacterial spectrum of polymyxin includes E. coli , Klebsiella, Haemophilus, Salmonella, Shigella, Pseudomonas, fungi and protozoa. The antibacterial spectrum of bacitracin includes Staphylococcus sp., Streptococcus sp., Clostridium sp., Corynebacterium sp. and Treponema sp.
